Man Utd and Perisic secret
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho thinks Ed Woodward secretly blocked a transfer for Ivan Perisic because he wasn’t marketable enough.
That’s the claim of the Evening Standard, who say the Red Devils boss was hellbent on signing the Croatia international.
However, while Woodward happily forked out for Alexis Sanchez in January, he was reluctant to do so for the Inter winger.
And Mourinho feels that was because the player was deemed not commercially appealing enough from a business perspective.
Arsenal and Sanchez worries
Mourinho was reluctant to sign Sanchez from Arsenal because he was worried about the player integrating, reports claim.
The United boss landed the Chile international in January in a straight swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Yet Bleacher Report claim the Red Devils boss was concerned about a transfer.
It is claimed he was wary of signing Sanchez mid-season because he feels January signings always struggle to adjust to his methods.
And he also loathes landing players in the New Year due to the fact it takes time to buy into his own philosophy.
Gary Neville wants to replace Woodward at United, it has been sensationally claimed.
The Red Devils legend hit out at his old team’s vice executive-chairman when reports claiming Jose Mourinho was due to be sacked surfaced.
And Michael Cox, speaking on The Totally Football Show podcast, thinks the United legend is keen to return to Old Trafford.
“I think that Gary Neville would like Ed Woodward’s job. Seriously,” he said.
“If you listen to Neville’s criticism it’s never about the Glazers. It’s never about the players or the manager.”
