France took the lead against Croatia in the World Cup final in Moscow after just 20 minutes.
The French won a free-kick on the right of Croatia’s box and Antoine Griezmann swung the ball in.
It came off Mario Mandzukic last, with France celebrating almost timidly.
But who was the goal credited to in the end?
Broadcasters the BBC and ITV both credited the goal with Mandzukic.
However, we will have to wait until FIFA officially award the goal to a player to get the definitive answer.
Still, it leaves some football fans who bet on the World Cup desperately searching to see who got the last touch.
World Cup final betting
Many fans will have backed Griezmann to score the first goal in the World Cup final.
Indeed, they may argue that the France international’s free-kick may have gone into the net had Mandzukic touched it or not.
Griezmann certainly celebrated as though it was his.
Paddy Power confirmed they had given the goal to Mandzukic.
As did both Betstars and Ladbrokes.
