Eugenie Bouchard, a Canadian tennis pro, posted a snap from the beach in Tel Aviv, Israel.
She wrote under the image: “I (heart emoji) this place. Also you can see the vein I got anti doping in lol.”
However, the image sparked a fierce debate about political relations between Palestine and Israel – an unintentional result.
While Eugenie smiled prettily at the camera in a black bikini, commenters waged an intense back and fourth in the comment section.
One wrote “Shame for you,” commenting on the tennis pros choice of holiday location.
Another said: “Israel is the country who brings the most humanitarian aid into Gaza.”
However, there were other more positive statements.
One wrote “Welcome to Israel” with a number of heart emojis.
The debate did not precent Eugenie from posting her holiday snaps.
Another image showed her floating in the Dead Sea in Jordan, and another saw her smothered in mud from the sea bed.
She also later headed to Jerusalem, and wrote under an image of her posing: “The Old City.”
Eugenie Bouchard is currently playing in the Luxembourg Open.
Tonight she is playing Andrea Petkovic, 31, in the quarter-final.
Andrea is a German tennis player who has won around £5.5 million in prize money.
Recently Eugenie Bouchard’s Instagram account shared a sexy selfie after a big career announcement.
Posting to her 1.8 million followers, the Canadian babe shared the close-up image of her looking deeply into the camera.
She revealed that she had landed a racket sponsorship deal.
Eugenie Bouchard was slammed on Instagram recently after posting racy pictures.
However, the social media snap has caused unfavourable comparisons to the world’s greats.
One fan said: “Mate she’s f****** woeful and you know it.
“This post sums up the reason why – bet you’d never see the fed express or Serena carrying on like she does on socials.”
